Student Takeover in Bloomington

My name is Lanie Trotter, and I am one of the 2019-2020 IUAA Student Fellows. I’m taking over the blog today to introduce you to myself and my fellow fellows. My friends say I love to talk about myself, so naturally I’ll start with my own introduction. I am a senior from Memphis, TN majoring in Finance & Real Estate in the Kelley School of Business and minoring in Urban Planning & Community Development in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (man, that’s a mouthful!). I spent last semester on exchange in Hong Kong and am beyond excited to be back in Bloomington for my last year at IU and with IUAA! I will be working with the Alumni Scholars Program helping distribute scholarships and developing programs to promote student engagement.

Kirsten Stenger comes from Aurora, IN and is the fearless fashionista leader of our group. She is a senior pursuing a major in Apparel Merchandising with minors in Fashion Design and Sociology. Kirsten is the president of the Student Alumni Association and handles IUAA Administration.

McKenzie Mauer, a senior from Arlington Heights, IL, is majoring in Marketing with Digital & Social Media Business Applications in the Kelley School. She just returned from a semester in Barcelona! As the Fellow of Alumni Programs, McKenzie is busy this semester as the Chair of the SAA 2019 Homecoming Steering Committee. Show your support for her and the other fellows by coming out to the Homecoming Parade or the Hoosier Huddle!

Victor Sanchez is from Mexico City, Mexico (our only international student fellow!). He is in his junior year in the Kelley School pursuing majors in Finance & LEAD (Law, Ethics, and Decision Making) and works with the Alumni Communities team to assist volunteers like you!

This year is Jasmyn Burks’ first year as a student fellow, and we’re so glad to have her join our team! Jasmyn is a senior from Evansville, IN majoring in Media Science with a specialization in Creative Advertising Strategies in the Media School and minoring in English. Jasmyn will work with Victor (and all of you!) as an Alumni Communities Fellow.

Chayce Rowe is the other new addition to our team. Hailing from Indianapolis, IN, Chayce is a junior majoring in Human Resources in the O’Neill School (formerly SPEA). He’s a Briscoe Resident’s Assistant and an avid sports fan. He will be working with the I-Association this year. Go Hoosiers!

If you’re in town for Homecoming or any other IUAA event, please introduce yourself to us! We love talking to alumni as much as you love talking to students, and this group is really the best to talk to about IU from the perspective of students. We are all passionate about this community and are excited to be part of IUAA!

If you have any questions about what the Student Fellows are up to or just want to chat about IU, please feel free to email me at trotterl@iu.edu.
