Survey says…!

Thank you to all who participated in our survey to get feedback on our proposed core priority statements for the IUAA Strategic Plan. We asked the 242 people who either participated or were invited to participate in our Stakeholder Insight Sessions to give us feedback on three core priority statements.

We have very strong engagement in the survey. 95 individuals responded to the survey, which is 39% of all who were invited to participate in the survey. In addition to their quantitative responses, 43 individuals offered specific, qualitative comments. 19 other individuals expressed interest in further conversation and follow up. Great feedback like this helps a lot!

The results suggest that our statements align well with the IUAA mission and vision and are responsive to stakeholder insights. Additional work will be done to enhance clarity, measurability, and mutual benefit:

  • 78% believe the core priority statements align with the IUAA mission and vision well or very well.
  • 75% believe the core priority statements reflect stakeholder insights well or very well.
  • 57% believe the core priority statements are clear, measurable, and articulate mutual benefit to IU and IU alumni.

The specific comments shared by respondents are a treasure trove of insight. Nine themes emerged from the many written comments:

  • Address measurement and editorial approach
  • Be clear and specific
  • Be more inclusive
  • Consider chapter leader perspectives
  • Offer more details
  • Seek even more feedback
  • Thanks and praise for the effort
  • Think more about marketing and mutual benefit
  • Tweak mission, vision, and rationale

We’re really excited by all this and hope you are too, Engagement in the plan will give us a stronger final product. We are considering all these survey results and great insights as we continue work on the plan.

For our beloved alma mater,
JT.
