Purchase a Nick’s Brick Today and Support IU Athletics

It’s the end of an era, volunteer leaders. The Nick’s Bricks program has been in existence since I Association Director Tom Bolyard and Nick’s owner Dick Barnes founded the program in 1981, and this month, we taking our last brick orders. Only 30 spots for engraved bricks in front of Nick’s English Hut remain. Let me remind you: Nick’s is more than a family restaurant just steps from Sample Gates.

Founded in 1927, Nick’s Old English Hut, like the IU Bloomington athletic tradition, is ubiquitous in our legendary college town. The stories that you can read on Nick’s website speak for themselves.  Let’s just say, you could be part of that legend and contribute to a great cause if you bought a brick.

The engraved bricks make outstanding Christmas presents and commemoration plaques. Some of my favorite inscriptions are:

  • BIG MOBS
  • BUY ME A DRINK
  • LOVE YOUR HAIR
  • BESTY BEDWELL
  • KIRKWOOD CASTLE
  • SIGMA NUS

Even before I began my tenure as director of the I Association, I was enamored with the clever, humorous, and poignant ways donors to the program convey their messages.

The bricks cost $150 and all proceeds benefit Indiana University Athletics. It’s a great opportunity to leave a small legacy and time is running out. To obtain an order form, just contact me today at bbrase@iu.edu.

Thanks for helping, Hoosier Family. Go, IU!
