Make An Impact on Your Community

As IU alumni, we’re part of something far bigger than ourselves. We’re a global community of nearly 775,000 graduates, we’re passionate about making the world a better place, and we have a proud tradition of service. Serving our local communities is one of the ways we can demonstrate the power of IU’s alumni network, and truly make an impact in our area.

IUAA’s individual volunteers and chartered alumni communities from around the globe are encouraged to plan, activate, and report on their service projects and events throughout the year.

Let's Get Started

Follow these steps for initiating a community service project. For more information or questions, contact your IUAA liaison.

Step 1: Activation

Complete and submit the Community Service Campaign activation form.

Step 2: Resources

Once your activation is received, you’ll receive an email that explains the expectations of this campaign, a link to access the available resources, and information about reporting requirements. This email will provide you with access to campaign-specific resources, including:

  • Email and newsletter copy for project promotion
  • Thank you copy for those who participated
  • Social media copy and images
  • “Alumni in Action” t-shirts
  • Excel template for community service project attendee list

Your event will also be added to our global alumni calendar located on the IUAA’s events calendar.

Step 3: Reporting

After your community service event, we ask that you to report on its success. You should complete the Community Service Campaign reporting form and help us tell the story of IU making a difference in the world! We ask that you include a list of attendees in Excel format. An Excel template will be provided.
