Bicentennial Celebration Campaign

Happy 200th Birthday, IU!

IU’s much-anticipated Bicentennial is Jan. 20, 2020. Pull out your cream and crimson streamers between Jan. 18–20 and help IU celebrate 200 years of nurturing the best and brightest minds from Indiana and beyond. The IU Office of the Bicentennial will lead the way, providing IU trivia challenges, historical commentary, and other items to help get the party started.

Gift Your Time

By spearheading revolutionary research and educating tomorrow’s leaders, IU continues to give back to the state, the nation, and the world. Emulating the spirit of IU through a community service project may be the best way to wish IU a happy 200th birthday.

Let’s Get Started

Here’s how to initiate your Bicentennial Celebration Campaign. For more information, please contact your IUAA liaison.

Step 1: Activation

Complete and submit the Bicentennial Celebration Campaign activation form.

Step 2: Training

Once your activation is reviewed and approved, you’ll receive an email confirmation that explains the available resources, reporting requirements, and expectations of this core campaign.

Step 3: Resources

Once you’ve viewed the training video, a member of the IUAA Alumni Communities team will provide you with access to campaign-specific resources, including:

  • Email copy
  • Thank you cards
  • Social media copy and images
  • Event registration form, if needed

Step 4: Reporting

Complete the Bicentennial Celebration Campaign reporting form by May 15. We’ll ask how you celebrated the Bicentennial Birthday Bash—did you have an event, host a community service event, or take part on social media? Maybe your group did all of the above? Share your successes with us!

Get Social

Share your celebration with the hashtag #IU200. That way, you can connect with IU alumni from all around the world. Whether you’re singing “Happy Birthday” to IU, wearing your favorite IU gear, baking a cream and crimson cake, or just celebrating with friends—we’d love to see it!
